LACCIR RFP 2009 Selected Proposals

The Latin American and Caribbean Collaborative ICT Research Virtual Institute is pleased to inform the LACCIR RFP00309 research proposals selected for funding. This Request for Proposals distributes among the winners a US$250,000 grant given by Microsoft Research and the Inter-American Development Bank to address Latin America and Caribbean priority Social and Economic Challenges through advancing ICT Research. LACCIR RFP 2009 received 25 research proposals from over 50 Institutions from 17 different countries and involved over 150 researchers. This selection covers the areas of Healthcare (1), Education (2) and Earth, Environment & Climate Change (2); also the following countries: Mexico, Chile, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Panamá, Uruguay and Bolivia.

Needs assessment survey about research and training in Health Informatics and Bioinformatics in Latin America

Developed by the QUIPU program.

Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia (Perú) and Universidad del Cauca (Colombia), with the support of the Federación Regional de Informótica de la Salud para América Latina y el Caribe (IMIA-LAC) are currently conducting a needs assessment survey on research in Health Informatics and Bioinformatics in Latin America.

The survey, in Spanish, will take approximately 15 minutes to complete. Results will appear in the QUIPU web page project and in the IMIA-LAC website as a link. Go to the Survey
